A couple weeks ago I posted about the upcoming Ariel Nomad (read that post here). I am glad to say that the official specs have now been released.
Utilizing the tube frame setup that the Ariel Atom track car uses, the Nomad is a extremely light weight. Currently, they are saying that it weighs 1,477 pounds. It’s powered by a 2.4 liter Honda four cylinder making 235 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. And to help you out with the math – this combination provides about the same power to weight ratio as the Challenger Hellcat.
The Nomad is rear wheel driving using a 6 speed manual transmission. 0-60 should take around 3.4 seconds and the top speed is around 125 mph. The suspension has double unequal length TIG-welded wishbones in front and rear and outboard Bilstein dampers and alloy steel Eibach coil springs.
The Nomad goes on sale this summer and is going to cost around $42,000. As with all Ariel vehicles, there are several options and configurations for their vehicles.
